Dr. Schultz completed her undergrad degree at Texas A&M (class of 1998), and graduated from LSU Veterinary College in 2003. She worked in private practice for two years in Louisiana, then from 2005-2008 was contracted with the United States Department of Defense to work in a small animal clinic run for military employees working at SHAPE, the central military base for NATO in Belgium.
Dr. Schultz traveled Europe extensively before returning to Baton Rouge, LA with the plan of offering house calls under her own LLC, HousePet HouseVet. Started in 2009, her service offered wellness and preventative care for all ages and palliative medicine and hospice/end-of-life care for elderly pets until its conclusion in 2018 after agreeing to come aboard with Last Wishes. Dr. Schultz has been a member of the IAAHPC since 2010 and was one of the first veterinarians in the world certified in Hospice & Palliative Care through the IAAHPC in 2017. Dr. Schultz has an adorable Old English Sheepdog named Stewart living at home with her here in Houston.
Dr. Schultz is a true believer in honoring the human-animal bond and the importance of it, especially near the completion of a pet’s life.
