Dr. Julia Spade
Dr. Julia Spade grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. From an early age she knew that animals were her passion, and by the age of 7 she had decided she wanted to become a veterinarian.
She attended undergraduate at Kansas State University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. She then attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University graduating Cum Laude. After veterinary school she did a one year rotating small animal internship in medicine and surgery at a VCA hospital outside of Chicago, IL. She finished her internship earning the award for number one intern. She moved to Houston fall of 2012. She has experience in emergency medicine and surgery.
Dr. Spade is proud to be a part of such a wonderful company because she truly understands the meaning of the human animal bond. She lost her first dog at age 10, a dachshund named Boris who developed intervertebral disk disease. At that moment she realized her life would never be complete without a furry companion even knowing it usually ends in heart break.
Dr. Spade lives with her husband Geoff. Her canine pals are Choco a chocolate lab mix, Gimli a whippet/pit bull cross, and Kitten her feline friend. She enjoys running, biking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Her extended family still resides up north in Nebraska and Kansas. She enjoys living in Houston and exploring all the things it has to offer.
